Eden Project Morecambe: New Domes Unveiled
10 Feb
Summary
- Revised plans feature two distinct shell-shaped domes.
- Coastal-inspired gardens and sea walls are included.
- Project expected to open fully in 2028 after phased approach.

Revised plans for the £100m Eden Project Morecambe, featuring two shell-shaped domes, are set to be reviewed by councillors. The updated design, reflecting two years of discussions and rising costs, ensures the attraction on the former Bubbles pool site remains within budget.
The new plan includes two domes, named the Realm of the Sun and Realm of the Moon, connected by a central entrance. These designs emphasize rhythm and seasonal changes, with gardens inspired by coastal flora and fauna.
Demolition of some existing structures is proposed, alongside the creation of new landscaped areas. The initial phase will see the development of a 1.5-acre "Bring Me Sunshine" community space. Full opening of the attraction is now expected in 2028, with summer events planned to remain consistent with original proposals.
