Ed Skrein is set to portray Baldur in Amazon Prime Video's upcoming "God of War" live-action series, currently in pre-production. He will join Ryan Hurst as Kratos and Callum Vinson as Atreus, continuing the story from the recent games.
The series will follow Kratos as he raises his son, Atreus, while facing the Norse pantheon. Their journey involves spreading the ashes of Faye, Kratos's wife and Atreus's mother, as he attempts to teach his son godhood and learns humanity himself.
Baldur, described as Odin's youngest son, is a charismatic but unpredictable character. Cursed since childhood to be unable to feel pleasure or physical sensation, he is driven by intense anger and a longing for a true challenge in battle.
Ronald D. Moore is serving as writer and executive producer, with Frederick E.O. Toye directing the initial episodes. The series has received a two-season order and is a co-production between Sony Pictures Television and Amazon MGM Studios.
