Ed Sheeran surprised fans in Sydney on Thursday with an unannounced performance. He took the stage with the Irish group Beoga during their encore at the Paddington RSL. This impromptu set occurred shortly before his scheduled shows at Accor Stadium this weekend.
During the performance, Sheeran led the vocals on two songs, including a version of his global hit 'Shape of You' and the traditional folk tune 'Wild Mountain Thyme.' His association with Beoga dates back to his 2016 album '÷' (divide), with the band having also supported him at the Glastonbury Festival in 2017.
Sheeran's current tour in Australia began in Perth on January 31. He is slated to perform at Sydney's Accor Stadium on February 13, 14, and 15. Following Sydney, his tour continues with dates in Brisbane and Melbourne before concluding in Adelaide on March 5.
