- Bristowe experienced a magical connection watching the show with her mother.

Kaitlyn Bristowe, a former champion of 'Dancing With the Stars,' has shared her key piece of advice for future contestants: to simply "shut up and listen." Bristowe, 40, explained on her "Off the Vine" podcast that surrendering to the process and trusting her professional dance partner, Artem Chigvintsev, ultimately led to a more rewarding experience and better outcomes.
Bristowe, who won season 29 with Chigvintsev in 2020, noted that while she initially wanted to question her partner, she realized that listening was more beneficial. She recalled the magical feeling of watching the show, particularly with her mother, and how the demanding process revealed her own resilience and capabilities, making her feel prepared for any challenge.
Despite their shared victory, Bristowe and Chigvintsev have since drifted apart, with Bristowe describing their post-show relationship as primarily business. She expressed sadness over the lack of contact due to their busy schedules. Bristowe did return to the ballroom in November 2025 for a special performance with Andy Richter during season 34, performing a Viennese waltz.
