12 Mar
Summary
- Former NBA player Dwight Howard is sued for unpaid wages and emotional distress.
- The lawsuit claims Howard owes $40,702.06 in unpaid wages and damages.
- Howard recently filed for divorce from his estranged wife, Amber Howard.

Dwight Howard, an eight-time All-Star, is currently embroiled in legal proceedings, including a lawsuit filed in December 2025 by a former assistant. The assistant, Terrence Hudson, alleges he worked for Howard and his estranged wife, Amber Howard, from June 25, 2025, to October 8, 2025, in roles including security guard and personal assistant.
Hudson claims he was promised $2,000 weekly but received inconsistent payments totaling $8,137.54. He is now seeking $40,702.06, encompassing $30,702.06 for unpaid wages and $10,000 for emotional distress after a demand letter was reportedly declined.
This situation unfolds as Howard recently filed for divorce from Amber Howard, also known as Amy Luciani. He cited the marriage as "irretrievably broken" with no hope of reconciliation. The couple married in January 2025, and this marks at least their third divorce filing, with previous petitions in June and July 2025 having been dismissed.
Howard has faced similar allegations before; he was sued in 2020 by two former female employees for unpaid wages and damages, though that suit was dismissed in 2023. Representatives for Dwight Howard have not yet commented on the current lawsuit.
