In the weeks leading up to the October 3rd release of the 2025 film "The Smashing Machine," Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson has revealed that he sustained an injury to his famous "People's Elbow" during the movie's production.

According to Johnson, the incident occurred while filming an intense scene where he had to break through some doors on set. The director, Benny Safdie, had gone to great lengths to ensure the authenticity of the film, even building a functioning house with real doors for the shoot. However, this commitment to realism came at a cost, as Johnson's legendary elbow took the brunt of the impact.

The injury was further aggravated when Johnson had to "block" some kicks during the movie's fight sequences. After taking a shot to the arm, the bruising and swelling in his elbow returned, causing the wrestler-turned-actor additional pain.
