As Halloween approaches, legendary rock band Duran Duran is getting into the spirit early with the release of a chilling new version of their 1983 song "Shadows on Your Side." The re-recorded track, which features original guitarist Andy Taylor's guitar parts, is a shadowy, club-ready take on the punchy original from the band's third studio album, Seven and the Ragged Tiger.
Duran Duran, who were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2022, will be bringing their new sound to North American audiences later this year, with a tour scheduled for December 2025 and January 2026. The band has also been in the studio working on new material, including collaborations with longtime producer Nile Rodgers at Abbey Road in London.
The "Shadows on Your Side" remix is part of Duran Duran's upcoming concept album, Danse Macabre, which features a mix of new compositions, reworked songs, and covers of tracks by artists like Billie Eilish, Talking Heads, and Siouxsie and the Banshees. The album, released in 2023, peaked at No. 4 on the UK charts and spawned the Secret Oktober concert film, which is currently streaming on demand.
