Back in 2019, when director Nag Ashwin approached Dulquer Salmaan to play the role of legendary Tamil actor Gemini Ganesan in the biopic 'Mahanati', Dulquer was initially hesitant. He expressed concerns about managing the Telugu language and whether the audience would accept him. However, after much persuasion, Dulquer eventually agreed, a decision that would change the course of his career.
In 'Mahanati', Dulquer's portrayal of Gemini Ganesan was widely praised by critics and fans alike. The film also performed well at the box office. Fast forward to 2025, and Dulquer has now become a prominent Telugu superstar, delivering three blockbuster hits since his debut in the language.

Now, Dulquer Salmaan is set to captivate audiences once again with his upcoming period drama 'Kaantha', set in 1950s Madras. The film also stars Rana Daggubati, Samuthirakani, Bhagyashri Borse, and Ravindra Vijay, and is scheduled for release on November 14, 2025.
