Star Resigns Over Actor's Controversial Reinstatement

Senior dubbing artist Bhagyalakshmi has dramatically resigned from the Film Employees Federation of Kerala (FEFKA). Her departure is a direct protest against the organization's decision to reinstate actor Dileep, who faced charges in a high-profile assault case.

Bhagyalakshmi expressed deep concern over the handling of the case, noting the verdict was from the principal sessions court and appeals can go up to the Supreme Court. She criticized FEFKA and other industry bodies for what she perceived as a hasty move to welcome Dileep back, emphasizing that twenty-one witnesses had turned hostile. She stated that these organizations have not supported survivors but rather those with financial and influential backing.

Her resignation signifies a strong moral stance, highlighting a perceived violation of FEFKA's bylaws. Bhagyalakshmi pointed out that no industry organization had reached out to the survivor, a stark contrast to their swiftness in considering Dileep's return. She declared that these bodies now stand with the 'prey and the hunter,' underscoring the deep divisions within the Malayalam film industry following the verdict.
