The beloved Drishyam franchise, starring Mohanlal, may not conclude with its highly anticipated third film. Actor Mohanlal has indicated that the popular thriller series could see further installments beyond Drishyam 3.
During a recent trailer launch event, Mohanlal expressed his desire for his character, Georgekutty, to be saved, humorously noting his continued presence. He also stated that the decision for sequels, potentially Drishyam 4 or 5, would depend on audience reception.
Adding to the excitement, it was revealed that producer Antony Perumbavoor has been contemplating a fifth movie even before commencing work on a potential fourth installment.
Directed by Jeethu Joseph, the Drishyam franchise first premiered in 2013 and has since become a major success in Malayalam cinema. Drishyam 2 was released in 2021, premiering on streaming platforms. The series' popularity has also led to successful remakes in Hindi and Telugu, with Drishyam 3 scheduled for release on May 21.
