An Italian photographer, Gabriele Galimberti, has officially withdrawn his copyright lawsuit against rapper Drake. Galimberti's photograph and the disputed music video scene both depicted men standing outside homes, with firearms arranged around swimming pools. The photographer, known for his work with National Geographic, had previously faced controversy for a 2022 Balenciaga campaign. He had linked Drake's alleged use of his imagery to a recent feud with Kendrick Lamar.
The lawsuit was dismissed with prejudice on January 20, 2026, preventing any future legal action on the same claims. While the specifics of any settlement were not disclosed, representatives for both parties have not yet commented. Drake's own defamation lawsuit against Universal Music Group was dismissed in October, though he is currently appealing that decision.
