The film "Diamonds Are Forever" centers on Emilio, a 24-year-old gay man who leads a double life as the drag queen Sahara Diamante. Driven to connect with his unknown father, Cezão, Emilio joins Cezão's boxing gym. Initially unaware of his son's identity, the conservative and homophobic Cezão agrees to train Emilio after an injury to his top fighter. This shared pursuit of boxing begins to bridge the divide between them, fostering a unique father-son bond.
Pedro Jorge wrote and directed the feature, which builds upon his acclaimed 2016 short film of the same name. The project is a Brazil-Chile-Uruguay co-production, with approximately 45% of its budget already secured. Producers are actively seeking European co-producers and international sales agents to finalize financing. The film also benefits from the addition of screenwriters Camila Agustini and Elton de Almeida to its creative team.
