Puerto Rican singer-songwriter Draco Rosa has unveiled his first album of original songs in five years, titled 'Olas de Luz,' released in late April. The album artfully navigates a duality of "gothic fragrances" and spiritual journeys, a reflection of his personal explorations.
Rosa embarked on a spiritual journey with his partner starting mid-2024, traveling through the Dominican Republic and Spain, which heavily influenced the album's themes. This journey captures experiences from ancient vineyards and dramatic sunsets, translating deep emotions into tracks like "Montserrat" and "La Costa Brava."
The album also features "Gracias por un Día Más," a poignant tribute to his resilience after battling cancer twice. Rosa expresses profound gratitude for life and music, viewing each day as a victory. His career, which began with Menudo, includes significant contributions to Latin pop, having penned hits for Ricky Martin.
This new release coincides with the 30th anniversary of his 1996 album 'Vagabundo.' Rosa plans to announce a special one-night concert in Puerto Rico to perform the album in its entirety, with potential for other Latin American dates. He also revealed he is preparing to announce a commemorative concert for 'Vagabundo'.
