The upcoming 74th Dover Lane Music Conference in Kolkata, set for January 22-25, is poised to be a significant event for Indian classical music enthusiasts. The festival will showcase a distinguished lineup, including the return of sitar virtuoso Pt Budhaditya Mukherjee, who last graced the stage two decades ago. His participation marks a poignant moment, recalling his performances from 1979 to 2000.
Adding a unique dimension, Bollywood actress Meenakshi Seshadri is scheduled to present a Bharatnatyam recital on January 24. The conference will also honor emerging talent, with the Carring Minds International Young Talent award being presented to the seventh-generation sarangi player, Amaan Hussain, grandson of Ustad Abdul Latif Khan. Pt Ajay Pohankar will receive the Sangeet Samman award.
