Dolly Parton's Secret Wig Room for Sale

Dolly Parton's former weekend retreat in Solvang, California, is available for purchase at $1.995 million. This property, which she owned for a decade, offers a restored cottage and two additional dwelling units, retaining many of her personal touches.

The main cottage, approximately 1,100 square feet, boasts a farmhouse character with unique details. A standout feature is the converted garage serving as a wig room, reflecting Parton's famously glamorous aesthetic with pink and red tones and sparkling accents.

During her ownership, Parton reportedly used the secluded property with her friend Judy Ogle. The caretaker was instructed to always have fresh flowers and Spam, her favorite food, readily available in the refrigerator.

The entire compound spans roughly 2,500 square feet and includes seven bedrooms and six bathrooms. Security was a priority, with features like a reinforced door frame and blacked-out windows, described as 'pap proofing.'

Interest in the property has significantly increased since Parton's passing, attracting potential buyers internationally and across the US. The asking price remains firm, with proof of funds now required for viewings.

Parton also owned properties in Idyllwild, Tennessee, West Hollywood, and New York. The city of Solvang has ruled out purchasing the cottage for preservation, as stated by Mayor David Brown.
