Parton is one of three recipients of the chamber's posthumous icon awards. These awards acknowledge those whose legacies profoundly influence the region. Civic and business leader Ronald L. Corbin and civic and philanthropic leader Martha R. Ingram are also being honored posthumously.
Additional honorees will receive 2026 Spirit of the Region Awards. Stephanie Coleman, president and CEO of the Nashville Area Chamber of Commerce, emphasized that the event celebrates outstanding contributions and the region's ongoing development under the theme 'Next Starts Now.'
Dolly Parton, who passed away on August 25 at age 80 in Nashville, was a celebrated music legend. Her numerous accolades include inductions into multiple Halls of Fame and chart-topping hits like '9 to 5' and 'Islands in the Stream.'
