Rodrigo & McLachlan Honor "Goddess" Dolly Parton

Musicians Sarah McLachlan and Olivia Rodrigo honored the late Dolly Parton at the inaugural Daisy Chain Fields Festival. The tribute took place days after the country music icon's death on Tuesday, August 25, 2026. McLachlan joined headliner Rodrigo on stage for a duet of "Angel," dedicating the song to Parton, whom she described as the "OG, matriarch, beautiful goddess" of country music.

A black-and-white photograph of Dolly Parton was displayed on screen behind the performers as they sang. The screen read "We will always love you, Dolly" at the conclusion of the song. Parton, who passed away at the age of 80, was remembered by many, including Taylor Swift and Jane Fonda, for her extensive philanthropy, timeless music, and inspiring legacy.

Parton's nephew confirmed her death, stating she "has lived in the light and is in the arms of Jesus." Her representative noted her "rhinestone life" and stated Parton will forever be an inspiration through her music, wit, warmth, and kindness. It was later confirmed that the Grammy winner had died following a brief battle with cancer. Parton was laid to rest at Nashville's Woodlawn Memorial Park and Mausoleum on Friday, August 28, 2026.
