Dolly Parton, the beloved country music superstar, is celebrating her decades-long career with the release of a new book, "Star of the Show: My Life on Stage." The book, written with Billboard Country Update editor Tom Roland, features over 500 photos and stories about Parton's extensive touring history and performances.
In the past week, Parton has been actively promoting the book's release, making stops at various retailers in Nashville, including Barnes & Noble, Sam's Club, Walmart, Costco, and Target. At Costco, she even sampled some tasty treats, while at Target, she jokingly used the book as a weight, hoisting it up in the air a few times.
However, Parton's health has been a concern for her fans recently. In September, she postponed her December dates at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas to September 2026, citing the need to undergo some medical procedures. Parton assured her fans that she is "okay" and that she has "some problems" that she is addressing, but she is determined to keep working.
Despite these health challenges, Parton's humanitarian efforts continue to be recognized. This Sunday, she will receive the prestigious Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award at the Oscars' annual Governors Awards in Los Angeles, honoring her decades-long commitment to promoting human welfare and contributing to rectifying inequities.
