Dlamini released a series of videos refuting these accusations, stating that he has always loved his children and provided for them. He alleges that Doja Cat's mother has manipulated their relationship since her daughter's career began to flourish, convincing Doja that he abandoned her, which he denies.

Dlamini expressed his disappointment, particularly concerning an incident where Doja Cat allegedly sent him a link to gay porn instead of tickets to her "Tour Ma Vie" shows in South Africa, where he resides. He described this action as influenced by her mother. While Doja Cat has acknowledged her father's talent as a South African actor and dancer, she has consistently stated she did not know him during her childhood and they are not close.
