Other featured films include Moroccan director Tala Hadid's "Bardi," about equestrian traditions, and entries from Cameroon and Angola. Asian cinema is represented by "9 Temples to Heaven" from Thailand, which is also the country's international Oscar submission.
Eleven of the 15 selected films received support from the Doha Film Institute. The festival aims to provide a platform for filmmakers who challenge conventions and bring unique stories to the screen, fostering connections across borders.
Prize money totaling over $185,000 will be awarded across various categories, including best narrative, documentary, artistic achievement, and performance. Key partners for the event include Katara, Media City Qatar, and Visit Qatar.
