The upcoming Broadway adaptation of Sidney Lumet's classic film "Dog Day Afternoon" has announced three new cast members. John Ortiz, Jessica Hecht, and Spencer Garrett will join Jon Bernthal and Ebon Moss-Bachrach in the production.
John Ortiz has been cast as Detective Ferrara. His previous work includes roles in "Bad Monkey," "Luck," and films like "Silver Linings Playbook" and "American Gangster." Jessica Hecht, a three-time Tony Award nominee, will play Colleen, a role similar to Sylvia in the original film. Her extensive credits include "Friends" and "Breaking Bad."
Spencer Garrett will make his Broadway debut as FBI Agent Sheldon, a character analogous to James Broderick's role in the film. Garrett has appeared in "Once Upon a Time in Hollywood" and "Winning Time: The Rise of the Lakers Dynasty."
