Dr. Sunny Ashok, a doctor serving in Ludhiana, experienced an unexpected turn of events when he was called to the set of 'Dhurandhar 2' on July 8, 2025. His task was to treat a head injury sustained by actor Arjun Rampal during a chase sequence. The injury was not serious, alleviating initial concerns.
Three days later, on July 11, 2025, Dr. Ashok returned to the film set with a simple request: a photo with actor Ranveer Singh. Singh, however, playfully offered him a role in the film, an idea readily approved by director Aditya Dhar.
Dr. Ashok was then cast in a scene requiring him to attend to an injured Ranveer Singh as he deplaned. He later recalled that his performance was praised for its natural portrayal, with the director noting he behaved exactly as a doctor would.
'Dhurandhar 2,' released in December 2025, has achieved significant box office success. The film has garnered over ₹575 crore in India and a worldwide gross of ₹919 crore, establishing itself as the year's highest-grossing film.
