Dispatch Game Censorship: Players Now Control Nudity
18 Jun
Summary
- Dispatch game update allows players to control censorship levels.
- New HR Violations Pack offers visual filter settings for content.
- Regional content access varies, with some areas having limited options.

The superhero adventure game Dispatch, which launched in January with censored content on the Nintendo Switch, has released an update addressing these issues. The new HR Violations Pack includes a visual filters setting, empowering players to remove black bars that concealed partially nude bodies and obscene gestures. Players in North America, Europe, Australia, and New Zealand can now opt for full or partial coverage of characters' bodies. Other regions, including Japan, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Korea, and Southeast Asia, will have full coverage options, though Japan's censorship is limited to blackout bars.
Developer AdHoc Studio explained that the initial heavy censorship was due to the need to comply with regional requirements discovered close to the game's launch. To streamline development, all versions were released with the most restrictive settings. The game, a debut for AdHoc Studios, has been praised for its story and characters, with voice acting from Aaron Paul and Jeffrey Wright, and was recognized as one of CNET's Favorite Games of 2025.
