Disney has officially set its summer 2028 cinematic slate, with two highly anticipated sequels scheduled for release. The live-action remake of "Lilo & Stitch" will receive a direct sequel, arriving in theaters on Memorial Day weekend in May 2028.
This follow-up aims to achieve the impressive $1.03 billion global box office total of its predecessor. Following closely will be Pixar's "Incredibles 3," which is set to premiere on June 16, 2028.
Peter Sohn, known for directing "Elemental," will helm "Incredibles 3." He takes over from Brad Bird, the director of the first two critically acclaimed "Incredibles" films. Bird will continue his involvement as a screenwriter and executive producer on the new installment.
