At Disney's Asia Pacific content showcase event held in Hong Kong Disneyland on November 13, 2025, the company revealed its exciting slate of new and upcoming Korean dramas for its Disney+ streaming platform. The highlight of the event was the announcement of 'Perfect Crown', a touching romantic comedy set in a reimagined modern-day Korea with a constitutional monarchy. The series, starring the popular duo of IU and Byeon Woo-seok, is slated to premiere globally on Disney+ in 2026.
Disney+ also shared the news of a second season renewal for its acclaimed period political drama 'Made in Korea', which stars Korean A-list actors Hyun Bin and Jung Woo-sung. The first season of the show is set to debut with a two-episode premiere on December 24, 2025.
In addition to these Korean originals, the company announced a collaboration with legendary Japanese video game developer Hideo Kojima for an anime series based on his groundbreaking game 'Death Stranding'. Titled 'Death Stranding Isolations' (working title), the 2D animated series is expected to hit Disney+ in 2027.
