Disney Unveils Ambitious Plans for America's 250th Birthday Celebration

As Disney celebrates its own 100th anniversary in 2024, the company is now preparing for an even bigger milestone – America's 250th birthday. In the lead-up to the Sesquicentennial, Disney has announced a series of special programming and offerings across its networks and theme parks.

The centerpiece of the celebration will be a 24-hour, multi-platform broadcast on the July 4th weekend, titled "Disney Celebrates America." The daylong coverage, led by anchor David Muir, will spotlight the "wonder, achievements and dreams that define the American spirit" through a lineup of top entertainers, athletes, and historians.

Beyond the broadcast, Disney is also introducing a brand-new version of its popular "Soarin'" ride experience at its California Adventure Park and EPCOT in Florida. The new "airborne adventure across the U.S." promises to immerse guests in the natural beauty and landmarks of America.

Additionally, the company will have special offerings specifically for veterans and military families at its U.S. parks and cruises, as well as themed merchandise tied to the 250th anniversary celebrations.
