On November 13, 2025, the Finders Keepers organization in Lincoln City, Oregon, announced a special glass float drop event to coincide with the 48th annual Restoration Pow-Wow, a celebration of Native American culture. The Finders Keepers initiative, sponsored by the city, has been scattering thousands of handmade glass floats along the 7 miles of beaches between Roads End and Siletz Bay since 1999.
The special "Restoration Pow-Wow" drop on November 14-16 will place an additional 50 glass floats along the beaches. These floats are hand-blown by local artists, inspired by the discovery of "blown glass Japanese fishing floats" that people would collect like treasure. Finders Keepers advises beachgoers to search for the floats, which are carefully placed above the high tide line but below the beach embankments, rather than hidden.
The Restoration Pow-Wow event, held at the Chinook Winds Casino Resort in Lincoln City, recognizes the Confederated Tribes of Siletz Indians and celebrates Native American culture with traditional dancing, drumming, and vendors. The Finders Keepers float drop is an opportunity for the community to participate in this cultural celebration.
