Additionally, he is attached to an adaptation of the Marcus Kleiwer novel "The Caretaker," which will star Sydney Sweeney. Savage also directed "Smile," which became a breakout hit in the fall of 2022, grossing $217 million worldwide and spawning a successful 2024 sequel.
Separately, director Finn, who developed Savage's breakout horror series, is preparing to direct a remake of the 1981 cult horror film "Possession." This project, starring Callum Turner and Margaret Qualley, is slated for release in June 2027.
Savage's early career included directing segments in horror anthologies such as "V/H/S" and "Southbound," as well as the 2007 Sundance film "The Signal."
