In the lead-up to the FilmLight Colour Awards 2025, director Lynne Ramsay has shared her high praise for acclaimed actor Joaquin Phoenix, calling him "totally terrifying" and "the most exciting actor" she's ever worked with. The prestigious awards, which celebrate the best in the industry's color grading professionals, have just announced their 2025 nominees.
The craft of color grading involves manipulating color to create specific moods, visual styles, and narrative themes across film, TV, and music. This year's major nominees include the features Sinners and The Brutalist, as well as the TV shows Severance, Andor, and The Studio.
Heading up the jury is cinematographer Bradford Young, known for his work on acclaimed projects like When They See Us, Arrival, and Selma. South Korean auteur Park Chan-wook has been named this year's guest of honor.
The FilmLight Colour Awards, now in their fifth year, attracted over 500 entries from 47 countries around the world. The winners will be announced live from Cooke Optic's London Gallery on Wednesday.
