The director explained that the ₹10,000 was a small token amount he had personally given to Amrit's father, Ram Charan, during his initial research years ago. Ghaywan emphasized that this sum was not the full extent of the compensation provided, and that neither he nor the producers would ever reduce such a deeply personal story to "such a pittance."
Ghaywan further stated that Amrit and Saiyub, the real-life inspirations behind 'Homebound,' have conveyed their happiness about how their lives were represented in the film. Out of respect for the bond he shares with them, the director preferred not to disclose the exact compensation details.
"The families' contributions are invaluable and deeply meaningful to me. We have honored their trust and stories with sincere respect and significant support," Ghaywan wrote in his clarification. The director's post aimed to dispel the misleading claims and reassure the public that the real-life subjects of 'Homebound' have been appropriately recognized and compensated for their role in the film's creation.
