Director slams 'idiot' reviewers over film's message

Director Pradeep Advaitham has staunchly defended the film, characterizing it as a story centered on identity, dignity, and belonging. He argued that its rural backdrop serves as a canvas for a universal conflict – the fight for recognition and acceptance.

Advaitham praised actor Ram Charan for embodying the protagonist, Peddi, and lauded director Buchi Babu Sana for championing an unconventional narrative. He acknowledged that certain elements, including the heroine's storyline and specific dialogues, drew valid criticism and could have been better executed.

However, Advaitham sharply criticized a segment of reviewers, labeling them 'idiots' for questioning villagers' choices to remain in their homes. He contended that the film itself explains this connection to the land, emphasizing its deep roots in history, identity, and belonging for marginalized communities.

The film, which was released on June 4, is set in rural Andhra Pradesh and explores a young man's journey to establish his identity through sport. Director Buchi Babu Sana has since issued an apology and stated the team will revise criticized portions of the film.
