Dipika Kakar: Daily Soaps Too Demanding Amid Health Battle

Actress Dipika Kakar, celebrated for her role in 'Sasural Simar Ka,' is currently navigating a challenging health period. As of September 21, 2026, she is undergoing routine immunotherapy and infusion sessions every three weeks. These treatments are part of her recovery process, which has led to notable weight loss, as recently shared by her husband, Shoaib Ibrahim.

Amidst fan anticipation for her return to daily television soaps, Kakar has clarified the reasons for her absence. In a recent vlog, she revealed that while she recently participated in dance rehearsals and is currently shooting a music video with Ibrahim, daily soap commitments are not viable. Kakar explained that the side effects from her ongoing treatment make sustained, long-day shoots too taxing, although one-day projects are manageable.

Kakar's last significant television appearance was in the reality show 'Celebrity MasterChef 2025,' from which she withdrew due to health reasons. Her most recent full-fledged role in a TV soap opera was in 'Kahaan Hum Kahaan Tum' in 2019. She had a major surgery for a stage 2 liver tumor in June 2025. Despite rumors of a TV comeback, she has informed fans that a return to daily soaps depends on her doctor's clearance.

In her personal life, Kakar married Shoaib Ibrahim in 2018 after their paths crossed on the set of 'Sasural Simar Ka.' Ibrahim has been a significant source of support, particularly during her health struggles in 2025 when she was diagnosed with a liver tumor.
