Dingwall Illuminates 800 Years of History

Dingwall is set to commemorate its 800th anniversary as a royal burgh, a status originally granted in 1226 by King Alexander II. The year-long festivities commence on January 17th with striking projections of archive photographs illuminating the town hall. Community members are invited to participate by creating window displays, forming a Bright Burgh Trail that will showcase the town's history and legends.

The celebrations will transform Dingwall into a vibrant spectacle, with light and color filling the streets. Beyond the initial launch, organizers have planned a variety of events throughout the year, including music festivals, a Viking re-enactment, and community feasts.
