The expansive 'Dhurandhar' universe may soon welcome a new surprise, as co-producer Jyoti Deshpande hinted at upcoming developments for the successful franchise. Following the back-to-back triumphs of 'Dhurandhar' and 'Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge,' Deshpande indicated that fans could expect something exciting later this year, stating, "We're not done with Dhurandhar yet." This revelation has energized fans, sparking widespread discussion about a possible third installment.
The original 'Dhurandhar,' a spy action thriller starring Ranveer Singh, was released on December 5, 2025. It captivated audiences with its plot about an undercover Indian intelligence agent infiltrating Karachi's criminal underworld to dismantle an ISI-backed terror network. The film's storyline drew loose inspiration from pivotal real-life events such as the 1999 IC-814 hijacking and the 2008 Mumbai attacks. It achieved immense commercial success, earning over Rs 1,350 crore worldwide.
Its sequel, 'Dhurandhar: The Revenge,' premiered on March 19, 2026, continuing the intense narrative. Agent Hamza Ali Mazari's deep infiltration into Karachi's criminal syndicates and his pursuit of justice for the 26/11 attacks formed the core of the plot. Meanwhile, director Aditya Dhar's wife, Yami Gautam, reflected on the film's success, emphasizing humility and gratitude, and noting that their personal values remain unchanged by their professional achievements.
