Filmmaker Aditya Dhar has issued a strong warning against individuals circulating manipulated visuals of his film 'Dhurandhar: The Revenge'. The film has achieved a significant milestone, crossing Rs 1,000 crore at the worldwide box office in just seven days. Dhar expressed gratitude for the film's success but raised concerns about misleading content online.
He specifically addressed the use of artificial intelligence to create false narratives, citing a fabricated image showing lead actor Ranveer Singh smoking while wearing a turban. Dhar unequivocally stated his respect for the Sikh community and assured that all portrayals were handled with sensitivity. He urged the public to rely solely on official film channels for information and warned that such deceptive acts would be dealt with firmly.
This situation follows a controversy involving actor R Madhavan, who clarified a scene depicting his character smoking while reciting a verse from the Dasam Granth. Madhavan assured that the cigarette was extinguished before the recitation, and no smoke was visible in the scene. The initial complaint was lodged by Gurjyot Singh Keer, who accused the film's team of disrespecting Sikh religious sentiments.
