Casting director Mukesh Chhabra described the task as initially daunting due to the sheer volume of roles and the desire for fresh faces.
Ranveer Singh was the unwavering first and only choice for the pivotal role of Hamza and reportedly agreed instantly. The film's ensemble cast also features prominent actors like Sanjay Dutt and R Madhavan. A surprising detail emerged regarding the antagonist role, Rehmaan Dakait, which Akshaye Khanna eventually portrayed after several other actors declined the part.
Extensive efforts were also made for supporting roles, with over 1000 auditions conducted for Yalina Jamali. The film's massive scale and meticulous casting have contributed to its widespread critical and commercial acclaim, solidifying its position as a major theatrical hit of the year.
