Why Dhurandhar 2 Ditched Dance Tracks

Summary
- Sequel deliberately avoided celebratory dance numbers.
- Tension and revenge narrative dictated song choices.
- Movie earned over Rs 620 crore at box office.

Choreographer Vijay Ganguly has revealed why the blockbuster sequel 'Dhurandhar: The Revenge' notably lacks the celebratory dance numbers that were a highlight of the first installment.
Ganguly explained that the decision was a deliberate one, stemming from the sequel's core identity as a 'start-to-finish' revenge thriller. Unlike the first film, which featured a wedding setting that naturally accommodated a dance anthem, the sequel maintains a tone of constant tension.
He further elaborated that adding a song without it being organically integrated into the script would have disrupted the narrative flow. The choreographer emphasized that 'Dhurandhar 2' offers no scope for such tracks, ensuring that the story remains paramount.
Directed by Aditya Dhar, 'Dhurandhar: The Revenge' has achieved significant commercial success, grossing over Rs 620 crore at the box office since its release on March 19, 2026. The film stars Ranveer Singh in the lead role.
