Aditya Dhar's espionage thriller 'Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge', starring Ranveer Singh, is nearing its 42nd day in theaters and is poised to shatter box office records. The film has already become the third highest-grossing Indian movie ever.
It is currently in a tight race to claim the global record held by 'Baahubali 2: The Conclusion' (Rs. 1,788.06 crore), with 'Dhurandhar 2' having grossed Rs. 1,780.82 crore worldwide. A difference of merely Rs. 7.24 crore suggests this record could fall within days.
Domestically, 'Dhurandhar 2' is also challenging the all-time record of Rs. 1,234.1 crore set by 'Pushpa 2: The Rule'. With a current India net collection of Rs. 1,133.05 crore, it needs around Rs. 101 crore more to reach the top spot.
Upon its release on March 19, 2026, 'Dhurandhar 2' demonstrated immense commercial strength, breaking first-week collection records with Rs. 674.17 crore. By its third week, it made history as the first Hindi film to enter India's Rs. 1,000 crore net club.
Ranveer Singh delivers a career-defining performance as a R&AW operative. The film's narrative intricately weaves elements like Lyari gang wars and the 26/11 tragedy, filmed across diverse locales like Ladakh and Thailand.
Despite facing legal challenges, including a copyright infringement case concerning a song and a broader suit alleging similarities with 'Tridev', the film's box office run has remained largely unaffected.
