Summary
- Dhurandhar 2 earned ₹102 crore on its India opening day.
- The film was banned in Pakistan but widely pirated.
- Over 2 million illegal downloads occurred in Pakistan in 12 days.

Aditya Dhar's highly anticipated film, Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge, has stormed the box office in India, grossing an impressive ₹102 crore on its opening day. This figure surpasses the opening day collections of recent major Hindi releases like Ranbir Kapoor's Animal and Shah Rukh Khan's Jawan.
Despite its success in India, Dhurandhar 2 faced a ban in Pakistan. However, the film's popularity transcended the official prohibition. Reports indicate that pirated versions of the movie were widely accessed across Pakistan shortly after its release.
Within just 12 days of its release, Dhurandhar 2 experienced an estimated 2 million illegal downloads in Pakistan. This made it the most pirated film in the country, exceeding previous records. Access was reportedly gained through platforms like Telegram channels, underground streams, and VPNs.
Pakistani officials, including the Information Minister of Sindh, Sharjeel Inam Memon, criticized the film for perceived negative propaganda against Pakistan, particularly its portrayal of Lyari. Memon asserted that Pakistani cinema would counter this narrative. The widespread piracy, despite ban attempts, underscores the ineffectiveness of content control measures in the digital age.
