Summary
- Dhanush appeared in a special song in Malayalam film Kammath & Kammath.
- The song sequence alone cost Rs 50 lakh to produce.
- The film had a total budget of Rs 9 crore.
Long before achieving pan-India stardom, actor Dhanush made memorable appearances outside the Tamil film industry. One such notable event was his special song sequence in the 2026 Malayalam film 'Kammath & Kammath,' where he shared the screen with Mammootty.
This special appearance was far from modest, with reports indicating the song sequence incurred a production cost of Rs 50 lakh. This figure represents a substantial portion of the film's reported total budget of Rs 9 crore, as revealed by producer Anto Joseph.
The sequence, set during a hotel inauguration, evolved into a celebratory dance number. A significant Rs 12 lakh was reportedly spent solely on constructing the set for the song filmed at Alsaj Convention Centre near Thiruvananthapuram.
The song featured several cast members, including Karthika, Rima Kallingal, Baburaj, and Raja Lakshmi, alongside Dhanush and Mammootty. This lavish production underscored the expense of Dhanush's guest role in the film.
