27 Apr
Summary
- Chaitra J Achar was initially cast as the female lead.
- A prior film's release date altered Kara's casting choice.
- Mamitha Baiju surprised the team by accepting the role.
Vignesh Raja, director of the anticipated film 'Kara,' revealed a surprising casting journey for the female lead. Initially, Chaitra J Achar was the top choice, fitting the character's rural and emotional essence, and even completed a look test.
However, Chaitra informed the team that her look in 'My Lord,' expected to release earlier, might impact 'Kara's' character freshness. This led the makers to reassess their casting decision for the role.
Following Chaitra's withdrawal, Mamitha Baiju was approached. Despite initial doubts from the director about her acceptance, she readily agreed to the part. Raja commended Baiju for embracing a grounded character, distinct from her usual image, adding significant strength.
Set for release on April 30, 'Kara' is generating considerable excitement. Alongside its compelling plot, the film features a strong supporting cast and music by GV Prakash Kumar, marking another significant step for director Vignesh Raja.
