Nate From Devil Wears Prada Stars in New Starbucks Ad

Adrian Grenier, who played Nate in the original "Devil Wears Prada," is featured in a new Starbucks advertisement promoting their Energy Refreshers. In the ad, Grenier humorously acknowledges not being invited to participate in the anticipated sequel. He offers a lighthearted toast to his character, Nate, admitting he wasn't perfect but suggesting it's time to move on from the role and embrace "good energy."

Grenier's appearance comes after he publicly shared his thoughts on being excluded from the sequel. In March 2026, he told Page Six that while disappointed, he understood that fan backlash against Nate might have influenced the decision. He even suggested this could pave the way for a character spinoff.

Earlier in 2021, Grenier admitted to Entertainment Weekly that he was initially surprised by the negative reception to Nate, only fully understanding the character's perceived flaws and selfishness upon reflecting on audience feedback and memes. He realized Nate was self-involved and failed to adequately support Andy's career.

While Grenier will not appear in the sequel, scheduled for release on May 1, 2026, several original cast members, including Anne Hathaway, Meryl Streep, Emily Blunt, and Stanley Tucci, are set to return.
