Summary
- Adrian Grenier humorously addresses not being in the sequel.
- Grenier jokes about Nate's character making a 'mean sandwich'.
- Actor admits character backlash might have affected sequel casting.

Adrian Grenier, known for his role as Nate Cooper in the 2006 film 'The Devil Wears Prada,' has made light of his exclusion from the recently announced sequel. In a new advertisement for an energy drink company, Grenier directly addresses the situation with a touch of humor. He states, 'You might have seen the headlines - I wasn't asked to be part of a certain sequel, but I'm good. Really. It's all good energy.'
Grenier further poked fun at his character's memorable, albeit simple, actions in the original film. He quipped, 'He made a mean sandwich, he loved his girlfriend, to a point. He wasn't perfect. So let's leave Nate in 2006, and keep this good energy going.' However, he playfully added that he remains open to reprising the role, saying, 'I mean if they call, I'm free.'
This comedic take comes after Grenier admitted last month to Page Six that he believed fan backlash towards Nate Cooper might have influenced the decision not to include him in the sequel. Nate was Andy Sachs' boyfriend in the original film. The new movie focuses on Meryl Streep's character, Miranda Priestly, and Andy Sachs' return to the fashion world.
