The Devil Wears Prada 2 unfolds twenty years after the events of the first film, finding Miranda Priestly facing a downturn in her fashion career. Runway magazine, where Andy Sachs began her journey, is struggling in the digital age. Andy is brought back to help boost Runway's credibility amidst a soulless media landscape.
Their efforts to save the publication become complicated by the unexpected death of publishing mogul Irv Ravitz and his son's questionable leadership. Andy and her former colleague Emily hatch a plan involving Elon Musk-esque Benji Barnes to secure Miranda's future at Runway.
However, Miranda discovers the plot, leading to a revelation that Emily had her own ambitions for the magazine. Ultimately, Miranda's place is secured thanks to an alliance with reclusive star Sasha Barnes. The film concludes with a scene that strongly echoes the final frame of the 1988 movie Working Girl.
