2 May
Summary
- Several stars' scenes were cut from the sequel for creative reasons.
- Anna Wintour's cameo was removed to avoid meta distraction.
- Adrian Grenier's return as Nate was planned but not feasible.

The upcoming sequel to The Devil Wears Prada is reportedly undergoing significant edits, with several notable actors' scenes being cut. While original stars Anne Hathaway, Meryl Streep, Emily Blunt, and Stanley Tucci are confirmed, many new faces and even surprise cameos will not appear in the final version. Sydney Sweeney's scene, where she played herself, was removed for creative and structural reasons, despite being filmed.
Conrad Ricamora, known for his role in How to Get Away With Murder, was also removed from the film. His character, Andy's roommate, was cut after test screenings indicated the character lacked purpose. Ricamora humorously attributed his removal to being "too sexy."
Even a cameo by fashion icon Anna Wintour did not make the final cut. Director David Frankel explained that her appearance was omitted to avoid the film becoming overly meta, as it already exists in a parallel world to the real-life fashion industry.
Additionally, Adrian Grenier's character Nate, Andy's boyfriend from the original film, will not be in the sequel. While plans were made for his potential cameo, production schedules ultimately prevented it from being realized. Grenier has since humorously acknowledged his character's controversial reputation among fans.
