In November 2025, a new feature film titled 'Green River Killer' is set to explore the haunting investigation into one of America's most prolific serial killers. The film is set against the backdrop of the Pacific Northwest in the early 1980s and follows two conflicted detectives, played by David Arquette and Nick Stahl, as they descend into the murky depths of the case.
The real-life subject of the film is Gary Leon Ridgway, who was convicted of murdering 49 women between 1982 and 1998. At the time of his arrest in 2001, Ridgway was believed to be the most prolific serial killer in U.S. history, with most of his victims being sex workers or other women in vulnerable circumstances.
The feature film, directed by Johnny J. Tabor, recently wrapped production in Washington State and Idaho. Tabor was drawn to the story because of how it "haunted those who lived it" for over two decades, as investigators carried the weight of a case that seemed endless, refusing to let it be forgotten.
The film's ensemble cast also includes Julie Ann Emery, Robert Belushi, Kevin Makely, Lew Temple, and Costas Mandylor, with Mitchell Bourke portraying Ted Bundy. The project is a co-production between Macova Media and Ave One Entertainment.
