Richards: Daughters' bond with Sheen 'good,' has ups and downs

Denise Richards has spoken about fostering a healthy relationship between her daughters, Lola and Sami, and their father, Charlie Sheen. During their highly public divorce, Richards prioritized her daughters knowing their dad as 'dad,' not just the celebrity persona, especially given Sheen's past struggles.

She actively encouraged any time her daughters could spend with Sheen when he was in a stable state. Richards stated she never spoke negatively about him in front of the children and ensured any staff hired maintained a similar discretion.

Richards believes the father-daughter relationship is presently 'good,' though she admits it fluctuates. She hopes her daughters will eventually feel comfortable discussing past events and asking their father questions about their upbringing.

Currently, Richards perceives an "elephant in the room" that remains unaddressed between Sheen and their daughters. She expressed a hope that they will one day feel safe and open enough to discuss underlying issues and feelings.
