Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle, the highly anticipated Japanese animated dark fantasy action film, has emerged as a massive global success. As of November 6th, 2025, the movie has become the 5th highest-grossing film of the year worldwide.
The film's pre-sales in China have been particularly impressive. In the period between November 13th and 16th, 2025, Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle accumulated $3.6 million in pre-sales, making it the second-biggest start for a non-Chinese film in the post-COVID era. It left behind the likes of F9, which opened its advance booking at $2.1 million.
The Ufotable production remains only behind Avatar - The Way Of Water, which earned a whopping $8.5 million on its first day of pre-sales in China. Infinity Castle has also clocked the biggest ever first-day pre-sales for a non-Chinese animation, garnering almost 2X of the previous record holder, Suzume.
Given the current trends, Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle is poised to comfortably surpass the $49.9 million debut weekend of Suzume at the Chinese box office, setting new benchmarks for Japanese animated films in the country.
