The 2017 "DuckTales" reboot brought Della Duck, Donald Duck's twin sister and mother to Huey, Dewey, and Louie, into the spotlight. Previously a largely absent character from Disney lore, Della was voiced by Paget Brewster, who expressed excitement in developing the character's backstory.
Della's significant absence was explained by her decade-long stranding on the moon following a rocket crash. She dedicated this time to rebuilding her spacecraft to return to her sons. Brewster highlighted Della's relatability, portraying her as a strong, flawed female character who teaches children that imperfection is acceptable.
The "DuckTales" series concluded after three seasons, but Della Duck's presence extended to other animated shorts and crossover series, solidifying her new role in modern Disney animation.
