In 2017, actor Deepak Tijori faced intense personal turmoil as reports emerged of a severe dispute with his wife, Shivani Tijori. Allegations surfaced that Shivani expelled him from their Goregaon home, suspecting an extramarital affair. It was also reported that she filed for divorce and maintenance, allegedly instructing staff to withhold food from Deepak, who reportedly stayed at a friend's place.

Adding another layer to the conflict, Deepak Tijori reportedly claimed that his marriage to Shivani was not legally valid. This claim stemmed from the assertion that Shivani had not yet divorced her first husband, rendering her marriage to Deepak void. Shivani's sister, Kunika Sadanand, commented on the situation, suggesting that someone might be manipulating the press during the divorce and alimony proceedings. Kunika also stated that Deepak was not forcibly removed from the house and was living with his girlfriend.
